Larry, my son is growing year 2212 and it has the same stretch marks on the blossom end he noticed them last night and had me come take a look. That 2212 is one hell of a seed! it's growing a wide flat and long, Pumpkin. Much like your 2181 I saw at Durham.

Big moon, these seem to work like a water gauge, if you water too much they expand and if not enough they remain the same. Once they make it around to the stem, they will split the stem also. 2181 never went through to the cavity though
