Nothing better than 48 degree low temps past few nights. I decided to counter the forecasted temps by putting the plastic back on my 10x14 greenhouse frame so I could atleast keep that area of my plant toasty at night. Have a very small thermostat heater that I put on the lowest setting which keeps the area around 60-65 Fahrenheit to see if doing so would help. Mind you that I had already had two nights in the low 50's/upper 40's prior to doing any of this and my pumkin barely grew. Its been two nights with my new set up and the pumkin growth has not improved. I guess my only conclusion is that the fruit has to be warmed in order for this to potentially help. Im at DAP 39. Wondering if anyone can add truth to this thesis or evidence that warming the fruit is..well fruitless

I think the whole plant has to be warm. Sugars move throughout the plant and that process varies by temp. The fruit, as the densest part of the plant takes the longest to change temp. If you have a warm plant and a cold fruit, bad things happen. Thats why we blanket fruits in cool weather.
