Caroline @40 DAP. 314" OTT. Continues to break personal size for the DAP records. Sadly, she's no longer competitive. Lost her stump on the 4th of July. Was inspecting her main vine on Saturday and found it was leaking about 6-8' from the fruit. Tried to cut away but it was clearly rotted through (the smell was god awful) and I elected to chop in a way that left as many secondaries as possible left feeding into the fruit. There are maybe 6 10' secondaries leading to the fruit now. We'll see how long she can limp along, goal is MN state fair if she holds together; I think Sept. weigh offs are out of the question. Unfortunately it's a late fair this year so we'll see. Will be watching her like a hawk to see if she's still growing and what's left of the vine holds up.
