I've been waiting eagerly to get another pollination on the vine since Big Booty Judy blew her blossom end. July 11th was finally the day!

I'm not going to lie, going from feeling way ahead of the game with a May 29th pollination to suddenly feeling behind has been a tough pill to swallow. But there is only one thing to do in this hobby: full steam ahead.

A HUGE shoutout to fellow growers John Young and Kerry Young for letting me raid their patch for male flowers at 10:00 PM the night before pollination to ensure I beat the bees. I was able to collect five pristine males off their 2029 Momirov plant to get this done. By the way, VTJohn's patch is even more pristine in person!

The master plan for this year was always to cross big, heavy orange into the 2741 Haist. The 2029 brings exactly that. I was messaging Adam Momirov earlier in the season, and he told me the 2029 was the most intensely orange pumpkin he had ever seen in his life.

The Cross: 2741 Haist x 2029 Miramov

The zip-tie is on. Time will tell over the next day or two but hoping we are back in the game. Full steam ahead!
