yahoo, THERE'S SOME VERY GOOD NEWS IN THE PATCH! i went to check on the pumpkins, the 1776 has it's female 2.3' out but the plant is 3' long now ill probably wait but in case that that one ends up going to the county fair on 8/30 i may need it and i expect nothing over 200 out oif it consideriong the conditions. i went tothe 1504s and i founs females 7.5' out on both plants competing for the space arghh this is one part i hate: deciding the keeper and the looser. then i looked in the vine tip and found females on both (of course) that'll land aproximatly 9' out. im hoping to pollinate before the 20th because i go on vacation for 5 days. i decided to count secondaries on both plants which are both around 8' long. the plant #1 had 19 i counted plant #2 and of course it also had 19 making the decision harder. one thing i found on #2 was thsat the 3rd or so true leaf wilted but no other part of the plant any ideas??? plants beginnin g to grow in each other with secondaries 2' long or slightly more. 1310s 3-4' long.
