Hot and dry day. Spent all day planting in my gardens. All of porkchop's Domingo seedlings have been transplanted. 8.40, 8.58 and 8.64 seedlings. 79 today and maybe rain tonight. Really a relief to finely have warm weather, relief from the high daily winds and some brief dry spells.

All fall cover crops I planted in August, including daikon, turnip, triticale, buck wheat, mustard, and hairy vetch, did exceptionally well and were mowed and turned under on 10/19. I noticed my piles of leaf mold had massive heat, turning these piles into my plots. I now planted late-fall and early-winter rye, daikon radish, and crimson clover. I previously amended my soil with decomposing arborist chips, gypsum, blood meal, and bone meal. We'll check back next week after a few rounds of showers move through my area with some really mild fall weather.
