Found this nice little pumpkin growing in Florida. Grown on the 2020 Paton clone from Andy Wolf. I measured it, estimated 26 pounds. Had a blossom end split so I had to get the seeds out much more immature than I would like
I planted many seeds from the 26 pound est fruit I grew in Florida and ended up with two plants and a very slow start. This fruit split but was the fastest growing pumpkin I have ever had. Odd shape to measure, very wide, finished close to 200" cir. I will call it 1558 est Welty'26. I pollinated it with a squash I had growing on a 315 sq ft plant that was outpacing this pumpkins growth
After losing 4 nice growing fruit including one tremendous squash on my 646.5, I have one fruit left on my Luther 26 Welty '26 seed. I had neglected this plant a bit as it wasn't looking half as good or showing much fruit growth. It was a bit over 320" when I had lost all the other fruit and started taking care of the plant
My last 26 est seed stock fruit is still growing. Never grew fast but had a good September. I hope I can push a few more pounds in October. can't wait to see what it weighs. Could be my only chance to have grown this seed given its poor maturity.
