DAP measurement was 621 pounds and averaging in the mid 50s per day. Its brutal hot and humid. Here you go Ian Paton ill grow one for you Wednesday, July 22 View Page DAP 50 on the oldest pumpkin was yesterday, meauring at 1,635 pounds and averaging a hair under 45 pounds per day. All the peer pressure to grow pumpkins was boarderline abuse LOL its been a ride, hopefully it will grow for a few months Friday, July 24 View Page Here is a photo of my other pumpkin, this pumpkin is 52 days old and estimating roughly 1,500 pounds and growing good. This pumpkin is dear to me because my mother pollinated it for me while i was at work and she is really proud of it. The pumpkin is almost as beautiful as mother is. I will say that it has been quite the challenge to grow both pumpkins and watermelons at the samr time because they are similar but also different. I am a very competitive person, sonintry very hard to be in the running no matter what i do. I never want to find myself getting "comfortable" i believe that if a grower gets comfortable you arent pushing the limits quite enough. I strive to push the limits, while doing all that i can to help others. But the main goal for me is to learn something new in my patch every single day.
