Also, we should schedule a particular time for a chat. One that doesn't conflict with other pumpkin chat hours. I'm open to suggestions, reply to this thread with any suggested times.

I suggest that the chat runs at 11:00 A.M. EST on Sundays. Most of us are probably home on Sundays, I don't know of any other chats then, it's before football and big dinners, and after most people are awake! Also, it would probably be the "first" chat the day after weigh-off!

How about a late saturday night edition? I'm too old (and too married) to go out anymore but I still end up staying up late so it would be nice to do some chatting. I never have participated in another pumpkin chat so I'm not sure if that is a conflict.

Later in the evening is better. 8 o'clock for those on the east coast is nice for you but that's 5 or 6 out here on the west coast and I'm seldom if ever able to make those times. Sunday evening might work well.

Showing the # of people chatting on the main page makes it hard for me to resist. I just have to know who's in there!!

This evening I noticed that the system did not announce when some people left the chat. It did for some, but a few in a row signed off, no message was displayed that they had left. Weird.

I would like to suggest occasionally having a "celebrity" chat. This has worked rather well on another chat line, where a "heavy hitter" was the special guest. Mombert, Holland, the Checkons, have already participated, I'm sure I could probably talk a few more into it! The "guest" could be announced a day or 2 beforehand.This seems like a great way to "launch" the new chatroom!

Absolutely.

We will be doing exactly that with Joe Pukos in the very near future. Once we have a firm date and time, I'll post it to the main page.

And for those that can't make the date, we will be posting the transcript from the chat to the site shortly after the chat.

We have decided on a "Scheduled Chat" every Tuesday at 9:00 pm Eastern.

By doing this, we hope to make it more convenient for users to hook up with people in the chat rooms.

It is by no means the only time you can chat....

where will the date, time, and the special guest be posted on the main page, it may be there, but it may not be seen. You could make a little box, like the one that has the chat links on it, so it's always there so we can check to see who's visiting and when. I think a good spot for that would be under the chat box, so it's all in the same area. Just a suggestion.
