I have a couple of plants this year that seem to be shooting up a lot of small leaves at the stump. I'm thinking of pruning a few off. I have Rootshield, sulfur, and hydrogen peroxide at may disposal. Can anyone provide any advice. In fact any stump health advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Most growers remove all that excess growth. Just cut the extra leaves, flowers and even the first one or two secondaries off with a pair of sharp scissors, you don't need to treat the area with anything. Just keep that area clean, dry and exposed to the sun.

We also learned at the GPC growers convention this year that part of the plant is the "crown" of the plant, not the "stump". I think most growers have always called it a stump. A stump is what you get when you cut down a tree.

If you cant keep it fairly dry, then I think a general light dusting of sulfer wouldnt hurt. The way I see it sulfer is more preventative, H202 is more of a cure. I could be wrong about this. Or you could add some Daconil to your arsenal, which I think is both preventative and a cure.

Yeah, I have some Daconil in stock too. I read that the Rootshield will colonize at wound locations preventing bad stuff from taking over. Don't know. I feel like I should put something on the wounds. Sulfur is easy enough, and like you said, a light dose won't hurt I guess. I just want to get rid of all of the extra growth there and keep the "stumpy looking crown of the trunk" in good shape before it become to big to fail. :)

Removing all those small leaves from the stump will increase airflow and sunlight which can help prevent rot. Also makes it easier to check for any problems.

I just trim mine with scissors and don’t add anything. You should be fine.
Some people may disagree with this, but I don’t really like sulfur or Captain I feel it collects moisture.
If you ever do have any issues, just clean with peroxide, or rubbing alcohol and put a fan on to dry it out, I found this to be the best
I have used Daconil as well, and I do like it if it’s needed.
