the best I can find is the 1756 Howell. I'm assuming that was a self and not a sibb

2200 Wolf was alright, not exactly a superstar. Scott grew the 2002 off of it, and my guess is there are probably some great genetics there. Scott crossed his 2365 that grew the 2554 with his 2002, I'm almost tempted to grow that one (currently planning on growing the 2554). Could be a good seed.

Mr Wolf, I secured the 2006 Wolf seed yesterday and my mind is a buzzing! Would that seed perform best if it was selfed or do I need to secure a second one to sib pollinate it with, or any suggestions as to what cross pollination would be best? My goal would be to maintain its size, weight and color as it is a beauty! Thank you in advance, Crane

Crane the 2006 might be white we don’t know yet until we grow it. more than likely it’ll be nice and orange, but there’s nothing guaranteed you just have to go with your gut try to get another big orange fruit and hopefully they’ll be big, orange and heavy

I guess my question is there any anticipated difference or benifit to polinate with a sibling over a self pollination? Does pollinating with a sibling get you any closer to the original pumpkin features over a self pollination? Thanx again, Crane

no, unless the sibling you're crossing with is itself closer to the original fruit, in which case you might as well self the sibling.

2006 x 1461 and vise versa is going to be an amazing cross for both size and color. I hope someone makes it

1952 Kogut was the 2006's super orange weigh-off buddy. I think it would also make a good cross

Two years in a row might be tempting the pumpkin gods Jake. But you gotta do what you gotta do. I've been there.

We are planning on doing 1952 x 2006 or reverse this year.

I'm going to try to sib the 2006 again. No major reason, just thought it would be cool.

As long as we're on the crossing subject Andy: I'm planning to grow the 2493 and the 2006 this year, I have a 1953 Daletas a 2554 and a 1904 Sperry. The later being an 1885 x 2520 cross. Any ideas on crossing these. I was thinking of crossing all with the 1953 but I'm surely open to suggestions.

With those seeds Garwolf you can't go wrong! Sometimes the plants will tell you. We don't know how well the 1953 is as a pollinator until this year but on paper it sure looks good.

Yeah, best way seems to be to pollinate with your best plant. I rarely want to be pollinating everything with the same plant unless it happens to finish my best, which of course you probably won't know at pollination time.

doubly-sibbed in the 21 Gerry FP '22,
I.E. Starting with the 116 Grunert
(((81 Wolf X Self) then X Sib in 37) then X Sib in 21), lol;
I may be growing Jack Be Littles before too long...eg

I am growing a beautiful fruit on a great growing healthy plant right now that came from a sibbed seed...
I might clone the plant and pollinate everything with it this summer
