For a 4 by 7 by 1 padded it is about 4.50. I would think closer to 5.50 for those.

I've been sending empty return bubbles in a full-sized manila envelope at $1.36 each. Bubbles with seeds in them around $4.50 each.

I've been sending $5.00 cash to growers in each envelope to cover return postage, but it looks like we're gonna have to up that in the near future.

No reason to guess, go to this link- https://postcalc.usps.com/
Add in your zip and then the zip code your sending to.
Click "Based on shape and size"
Add in weight (4 oz. for bubble and a few seeds)and click package icon
Your cost will be what is shown under first class package.

Trying to put the exact amount on the envelope is tough. I've purchased $5 and $2 stamps and put on enough to cover what the post office site tells is the cost.

One of the issues with packages is the post office wants to know that the bubble doesn't have certain things in it. I've taken the wording right off their website and made a label to put on the back of the envelopes. It says : "This package contains cured plant seeds only. It does NOT contain any HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. RESTRICTED MATTER OR PERISHABLE MATTER." If last year is any indication, we didn't have any rejects or lost bubbles.

I have mailed up to 5 seeds in (1) 4 x 7 bubble. The weight of the bubble, seeds in their own coin envelope, small piece of wood to ensure it doesn't go through the machine, and label was less than 1 oz. The way TruckTech does it works great. That $5 pays for everything. I have also received bubbles with printed postage already on it, the same as I do when mailing seeds. Either works good.
