Hello, I am getting ready to prep the ground for next year but where I would like to grow is on a slight decline. Would this be an issue?

lol @ abbynormal! - I'm sure it wasn't meant to be funny, but, yeah, as long as it's slight, thinking of my own tractor and the front wheels getting some air that one, two, three times. yeah, it was meant to be funny---eg---i'd be concerned with runoff of any excessive rain versus bare soil if no cover crop/companion plants---Good Luck.

Abbynormal grows multiple, large orange pumpkins on a hill every year. I'd think the biggest issue would be figuring out how to water evenly.

Our patch is on a 7 percent slope and have found no issues. Just make sure you have extra sand for leveling out your growing giants.

You could even argue that a slight slope is better for air drainage reducing pressure from downy and powdery mildew. I grow on a slope and the only thing I dislike about it is leveling a spot for the mill fabric.
