Will there be a new giant pumpkin world record in 2021?
Any rumors yet..? Does anybody know?

I doubt it! Most people don't seem to be having a good year from what I can see.

Records are made to be broken.

I think it will get broken. There are growers who are hitting pb's, plus some impressive mid season numbers out there! 2749 is my bet.

The weather on the west coast, particularly California, has been fantastic this summer. People there I’m in touch with have their “beat pumpkins ever.”

Yup,I think the west coast and probably the upper mid west areas , are going to produce some monsters , they have been having some great weather....

Weather in lower midwest has been great, I imagine the upper midwest is going to produce some monsters with the longer light.

Sounds like its been too wet in the east this year. Wondering if any giants come from there despite this.

Here in South Central Pennsylvania, it’s either too wet or too dry. We’ll go 2 weeks in the mid 90’s with no rain, then we’ll get 8” of rain in 3 days. We don’t get much extreme weather here, but the latitude makes for very inconsistent weather as we get weather from the Northwest one week and weather from the Southeast the next week.

It's hard to know what is going on out there in pumpkin world as it seems most of the heavy hitters aren't posting much these days. I have seen some big ones in a few diaries. Sparky out in CA and Moby Mike on youtube. Also I haven't seen much from Europe as far as diaries go.

200 diaries compared to 500+ just a few years back... I agree Big Moon.

We jinxed Sparky. If I say the biggest pumpkin this year will be just 1920 lbs... then it will be 2920... Whatever I guess is always significantly wrong.

2,500 estimated weight and 20% heavy would be 3,000lbs. Not saying it will happen this year, just saying it could happen.

Yes, this year by someone from Washington State, Oregon or California. The weather on the West Coast has been great, the record in British Columbia is likely to fall also.

If I start a seed now do you think I stand a chance of breaking the record? Monsoon season might finally be over.
