I’ve been hearing about some amazing daily & weekly gains. What are the best you’ve had? My 1109 Jutras just averaged 40 lbs/day for the past week…and I know that is nothing compared to other fruit growing out there.

I can't get beyond 22.5lbs a day! These guys with 45+ a day have a magic wand!

Mid/upper 20's / 6" circ gain daily... Lots of room for improvement...

The formula I use is best daily gain x 40 = possible final weight.

I had a 1019 Bosworth do 50 pounds a day for a week back in 08. Now mine are all slow and steady.

I've got one this year that has average 45 a day since day 30, 63 pounds last night at day 44. Best I have ever had.

The best we had last year was an average of 54lbs a day for 14 days.
This year we had two averaging 57lbs a day for one week but we split both of them which was entirely our falt for under watering for two days.

40 lbs a day for 2 days is my best. I don't think I will ever be able to reach that again. I left the water on all day for those 2 days.

Ian, could you explain how underwatering caused your pumpkins to split?

We we’re watering at the time 50gallons early in the morning, 50 gallons at midday and 50 gallons in the evening. We felt the patches we’re getting a little two wet so like most years we cut it down to 25 gallons three times a day for just two days before increasing back to 50 gallons.
Hindsight is a pain in the ass.
We think the extra perlite that we put in this year did it’s job better than we thought.

I heard the story on those fruit Ian, ugh.... I know you won't be doing that again.

What's really different about this post is vineman use to say Santa Rosa but now says Eugene? New dirt, new growing area,,,, something special will be coming from up there if I had to take a guess over the next couple years.:)

Cindy Tobeck grew one on a scale last year and I believe she measured 66 pounds in one day.
