Hey folks, got a mystery on my hands. All the growing tips on my secondaries turned deep yellow and died off at about 4 ft. I haven't seen something like this yet. More info below, but anyone have any idea what's going on?

Weather: Zone 7B, several 90-100 degree days recently.
Foliar feeding: Fish Emulsion, calmag, bifenthrin.
Drench: Kelp meal, blood meal, fish emulsion
Pests: I've seen slugs, deer, and vine borers.
Fruit: I have one ~30 lb pumpkin at 12 ft on the main

Hot days, direct sun will fry growing tips. Shading during high sun times helps.

We have had a ton of rain and basically wetter than normal weather here in Central NY - I have a 1985 Miller that is about 15 feet long always in direct sun and several others the same way but smaller, whereby I'll attribute my 'no issues here' to the extra-ample water getting to the plants by default (and yet accordingly, I'll trade you for the the early Powdery Mildew on the 1985 - Uh-Oh!, lol) eric g

There could also have been weed killer sprayed in a field even a long distance from you - trust me, been there - in which case proceeding as normal but trying to accelerate growth especially by increasing watering will get you around it, if that was it. Drink too much? You drink lotsa water, yes? Same idea. Too bad I cannot do pictures anymore (flip phone/Net10).

Thank you both for the response, I think fried tips is the most likely scenario. Haven't seen sustained highs like this before, I'll have to get the shade cloth out!

Whats that stuff on your leaves? I have never seen that happen before, If I just saw that picture without any other informnation I would say it was hit with herbicide.

I've fried new growth before with too strong of foliar feed as well.

Yeah, some crystalline precipitate that could have come from the leaves saying 'Byeeeee!!!', or similar. That zoom works great. I had a probably 2 ft. long plant, my 506.8 (2003 Haist X 301.5 Gerry) whereat one leaf and the main tip turned completely WHITE, like a poinsettia of that variety and I went about mayyyybeeee watering it more than usual, always with SOME fertilizer in it, Miracle Gro 15-30-15, most likely...LSS, another would-have-been-a-secondary grew alongside and hidden by the defunct main and leaves and overtook it rather quickly, to my delight and surprise. Now, she be crankin'!!!...at about 5 feet, lol---I'll ketchup, I swear---eg

The crystals are sand that's splashed up from the pumpkin landing. I thought I shared a folder of photos before but only one came through. Here's the rest. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Axno5GlZKRw2QbZjnhes2v0JOSKuaMbF?usp=sharing

It's the extremely low nitrogen. I believe I see wood chips in the soil in that second pic?

Good observation on the woodchips, those are on the perimeter of my 150sqft plot. They could be related somehow as most of the vines stopped growing right where they hit the wood chips and grass on the outskirts. I thought I would have to terminate but nope.
