My plant is way to big to fit into a hoop house but it’s supposed to get down to 45 for a couple nights this week. What should I do will this affect the plant a lot?

Adam, let Mother Nature do her thing. It’s June and despite a few chilly nights, your plant will be fine...let it grow.

What doesnt kill you makes you stronger. I'm not sure anything has to be ideal until the fruit is at DAP 1. Then good weather is important.

Hey Adam, your plant will be fine. Its been really cold here this spring and despite a few 35 degree nights our pumpkins are chugging right along! Good luck hope you grow a record!

Had 38 for a low here this morning, about the same tomorrow. Not much you can do when the plants are this big except enjoy a break from vine burying for an extra day or so.

43 here in Sharon. While burying a side vine I turned it. All was OK. Then 5 minutes later I heard a snap. And sure enough...the vine snapped Too cold to move vines. Darn!

Hitting 105 in Missouri today, plants aren't fully rooted and really struggling with this heat. I feel your pain on the other side.

36 here yesterday morning. Looks like it threw off the rhythm of pollination a bit.

If you are really concerned about it, just lay your fabric on the plant without the hoops. If it actually got cold enough, you'd get some leaf damage but you wouldn't lose the plant.
