When do most of you unplug or turn off your soil cables?
A certain date or the surrounding natural soil temperature?
Thanks/Glenn

If it hits 80 degrees outside you're wasting electricity. Imho. Were nearly there today.

Mine are on a thermostat and I just leave plugged in so if needed in the fall they will turn on.

Glenn I use a compost thermostat to check my soil temps, I run 2 one at 12 inches and one at 8 If your temps are in the mid 70's F then your good. But sometimes the surrounding ground temp can lower it, so keep your thermometer in the ground and once you can balance out at lets say 72 with a high of 75 your golden.

Thanks LJ and Eddy. Yes the cables have an internal thermostat also, but I need the power for my overhead pump irrigation system and need to unplug the cables.
