Where do I find the info/rules on the Master Gardener? Looked all over the GPC site and can't seem to find much. Thanks.

The GPC is reviewing all the Rules and will have it posted up here soon.

I think that "Master Gardner" is going to be the top title to win someday. Because of the variety of items that can be grown, more people have a shot than trying to grow giant pumpkins. It will be interesting to see how this competition continues to grow in the future.

So are you competing against only other Master Gardener participants in a virtual weigh off based on actual local on-site weigh off weights for each class? Is there a sign up, or how does that all work?

I believe Scott Holub took on this massive task of computing the MG results. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong. There is no sign up for the MG competition. Just need 5 different GPC category fruits officially weighed or measured.

Jack LaRue and I worked on compiling this year. Jay is correct, no sign up required. If you grow 5 categories you're automatically entered.

It's very helpful if your name, town, etc. is exactly the same for every entry, but we do our best to match them up if they aren't. (That is the hardest part of the whole thing actually.)

so, how do you win?
How many Master Gardeners are determined each year?
Is it just the one person with the highest point total?

Using pre registration for weigh off sites would make it a lot easier!

Once you entered your personal data, it is connected to you bigpumpkins.com account, so you only have to enter category and ancestory information for following entries

Historically do people that win Master Gardener have a "normal" job??
Seems like a retirement thing.
The time involved, I think would be enormous.
