We send the seeds on January 11, another grower, because the seeds have not yet arrived, 14 days later, they have made a claim for paypal, and they have withheld the money. I sent him the track of the registered letter, but I do not receive a response. Usually the letters take 3-4 weeks. It's a shame these things happen, it shouldn't be like that.

If you have the tracking number and proof of claim to PP, I would contact the Post Office and ask them if it is possible to have that package returned (will PP release the money if the package is delivered?)

It is taking according to one seed company at least 30 days within the USA. for seeds to arrive. I do not know how anybody that reads the news for the last several months would expect a package from Europe to be there in 2 weeks at the best of times.

Yes Spudder, I have written to the post office, to see if they can direct the package to another address in the usa, to see if there is any luck. The problem has been mine, for trusting me and sending the seeds without paying. But there is no need to think more, if there is no payment, I will report that user to Bigpumpkins, to GPC and inform the Washington growers so that they know the matter.I think it is good to talk about this here, because that way all auction organizers find out about it.

Wizzy, this grower has only submitted 2 pumpkins, one in 2016 and one in 2020, and not entered the GPC contest, but their data appears on pumpkin-fanatic. I'll wait a week, if I don't know anything about him, I'll give the information to GPC. I have read some messages from other years, and in many auctions it has not paid, last year in 4 auctions. Incredible as we did not see it before.

I am not sure whether or not this person weighed a pumpkin at a weigh off really matters and I am rooting for Levi to post a message here and do the right thing. But with this being said, years ago we had an email distribution list of auction coordinators. This made it easy for us to share the screen name/ real name of bidders who did not follow through on their promise. I would be happy to start the email list again if auction coordinators would like to email me at jkpayoung@hotmail.com This way the auction coordinators will have a heads up on who the bad actors may be.

Do a search of his name, and you will see that this has happened to multiple clubs spanning at least two years. There are actually clubs responding to other clubs posts about this.

Honestly, if someone was a legit scammer, wouldn't they change their name over the years? He\she "might" not understand protocol. I don't know.

Hi - I did the Search Window lookup of the name in question and you'll find that if you put a SPACE before AND after it and then hit 'Enter'; yeah, THAT'll reduce (or, in this case, increase?) the # of search results -

If I had to deal with this, and thank you to those that do because from the outside it looks horrible, I would add a clause that reserves the right to list the seed(s) won up on the boards for the price the auction lot was if payment is not received in X amount of days.

Or maybe the last auction of the year should be a "Deadbeat" auction where each club (re)lists the unclaimed lots and lists the non-paying bidder. That way the club gets paid and we generate a list of deadbeats for next year.
