This is a picture of the plant with the nearly 11 inch stalk. This was self-sown from seeds that dropped from the heads of the sunflowers from last year's garden. It's not very tall. It's only about 10 feet tall before the head started drooping. The sunflower is still flowering near the center of head. Still quite a few bumble bees on it this morning. There are still some green, unopened male florets on the head, but not many. The head is probably 16-17 inches across. I was hoping for a larger head. I've been using FoxFarm Tiger Bloom on it since I first saw the bud. It's getting pretty heavy with the developing seeds. Some of the leaves on this plant are about 2 feet across.
