Bruce Whittier(R)visited Robbs patch on August 29th and convinced Robb to cut the main vine (fruit was 355"). Massive dill rings were forming and the fruit was gaining 40lbs. a day. Days after cutting the main vine the fruit was still gaining 30lbs. a day. Robb then removed 70% of the leaves, but it was to late, it split in the dill ring the day after. On October 2nd it was 393" ott, and estimated 1240lbs.
