So all of my seeds were thrown out this winter except a few I tried to save from a pumpkin that died on the vine. The seeds seemed fine when I saved them, but after pulling them out this spring I was for sure they wouldnt work. So I gave it a try anyways, and it appears one of them is about to emerge. So my question is, as long as they germinate will they grow like normal? Will the state they were in/came from make a differnce?

Depends on if they came from a red or blue state and your state color.

Assuming the seed came from good stock and has no genetic flaws, if it pops you made it to 1st base. Only an external force like bad soil, pathogens, insects, weather or neglect will cause it to do poorly.

I agree with Andy, however the vigour of the seedling may be affected. If the seeding is a slow dooer, I would discard it for another one. If this is your only option, I guess you might as well go for it an see what happens. Still not too late to get some seeds from another grower though.

yeah, this was my last option, it was never really even meant to be an option. Luckly some growers here helped me out on getting some new seeds.

Slow starters dont necessarily mean small pumpkins... Our 1112.5 was from the runt of the litter and slow most of the season yet in the end it kicked all others A$$. Momma was the 1180 Daletas, go figure...
