When checking my seedlings under the growing lights this morning, I saw that some roots made their way to the top of the soil. I thought they´d all go down to the bottom or is it because of the early light? Ingo

I had the same thing happen to me during my winter experiments. the roots came to the top not the seed. I had planted it in coffee grounds and the only thing I could think of was the medium was too thin and it couldn't push the seed through number one and number two I was misting the coffe grounds not to disturb the top and the water ran through so fast that the top stayed wetter...love all that german ingenuity I've been watching your diary...Chuck

Giant pumpkin plants usually send roots all over creation. Occasionally I see roots pop up on the top. Never worried me before. My 545 Handy I grew last year did that, and that eventially grew my 694. Which was my biggest last year. Tom Beachy

whoa!! nature has a funny way of growing all sorts of things. If it comes up that way, let her go. God must have intended it to be that way. Just as beachy said: his545 grew that way and turned out fine. good luck floh!

Thank you all! Always good to hear if unusual things happened before and turned out right. Will just fill up a bit more soil on top and cover them - like burying vines.
