84 plants. WOW! I will have three plants and that keeps me plenty busy. I will start 4 just in case one doesn't germinate.

3 plants for me as well. I've got 2 going so far, and probably a 3rd on a few more days.

Just heard from a guy living near to me in Germany who is a professional grower that he has planted 25 AG´s and 120.000 other pumpkin seeds.....Anyone to beat that? Well, for me I will have 8 seeds to start on sunday (4 of them for a friend) so it´s not much in case you need a backup plant someday. Good luck to all! Ingo

I've been waiting for my soil tests so have stop doing anything in the patch till then....but....my wife had thrown in some store boughtpumpkins left over from last year that had been turned into the soil. Got about 50 plants up now!!!! Is this gonna be a problem with cross genetics if they come up and flower? they're howdens or something.

I will be growing 4 plants. I will start back ups if one dies early, if one dies later in the year I will not put in a back up, I will just allow the plant next to it more room. Tom

All together I started 31 seeds. I plan on keeping 5 plants for myself. Going to give the rest away and experiment a little . The seed is coming up now. Has been just 3 days

I'll start 6 and plant 3. I will pick the most aggressive ones to plant. The ones I don't plant, I'll give to friends.

one reason i planted so many is with all the bad luck i have i'll be lucky if 5 actually make it to the bearing stage.. just yesterday i ran smack over about 6 of them with my tractor while i was spreading fertilizer, no telling what will happen when i get my bushog hooked up..

In 2001 planted 45 in an area 50'x 25'. Learned my lesson. Dropped to 12 this year so I can manage them like one is suppose to. I did plant 2 next to a meadow which our property is adjacent to. The never ending supply of adequate moisture was too much temptation for me. We are ina drought emergency here is SE' Pa. In order to have a primary vine - one needs to be able to find it and move with it.
