How long do you leave the tarps on top for the weeds? At some point can it negatively impact microbes with oxygen turnover and heat?

The weed block fabric is gradually pulled back as the plants fill in the space. This usually starts in early June and is fully off the garden by mid July which can save a lot of stirrup hoe time. The fabric is breathable and water penetrates through it easily so no worry about soil. It can still be a pain in the butt moving it and drying it off before storing it but overall seems to work well.
