Try laying your seeds flat instead of pointing them point down in the soil.

You can: Gently, gently pull apart the ones that are stuck together (top-left of picture (pic)) and clean away the remaining crispy stuff on it, if any; Spritz with pure water the 'Helmet Heads' and consider 1. Rotating, like a volume knob, Like an OREO cookie!, cAreFuLly, the stuck-on seed coat on its axis once a few hourly spritzes have occurred - seeds need the wetness to facilitate the naturally-slippery green sheathing that has been provided. It'd be OK to gently grab the leaves opposite the seed case to begin any rotation - always use both hands; If there is not any 'twist-give', leave it alone but keep spritzing every few hours. 2. Same with the one that stopped growing - I think it's not growing because its leaf area is in the dark. Treat all of them as if $100 seeds, each, lol. 3. I would not deep-soak them again until like 2/3 of the peat pot is the dry peat pot color, but that's just my thought at the moment. 4. I would not allow them to sit in water. 5. I believe you'll need to remove the peat pots upon planting them out for real. Very Good Luck! eric g (Not a Heavy Hitter, but OK at sprouting, lol) (^_^)

The peat pots sucks water from the soil where you need it. I tried them a few years back. The plant will out grow that size in three days. (by the time the first true leaf is visible) These plants are little rippers, 1 gallon plastic pot for maybe a week and a half. 3 gallons got me about three weeks. (one gallon per week maybe?) I jus watched a video about"seed helmet's " the science behind the why. https://youtu.be/Bz7Z2dBntjw?si=YZSUKznpAofeMMKY It's hard when you are starting out, people don't want to offend your growing at the same time it pointless to spin your wheels for years. I am hopeful you can use this information to expedite the learning process. For this year, either get them in the ground if your soil temperature is above 55 degrees Fahrenheit and weather is above freezing or up pot them for the time that works for your schedule. I hope you grow a monster. You got this. I don't know much but what I do know I am completely willing to share. If you have any questions keep asking. A high tide raises all boats.
