I always use a nylon mesh baggie (5" X 8" w. 5" X 6-1/2" enclosure area) called an 'organza bag' that you'd see full of candy on a table at a wedding reception. Google 'organza drawstring bags' and they are really cheap or could be gotten at a bridal/art supply store. Not thinking fancy colors would be a good idea. Those are for pre-seeding the pollination day - Ha, Ha; I use an 8" ZipTie for closing up the flower afterwards - assemble it around, behind the flower and then draw it forward, zipping as you go. 100% controlled cross if one is quick against the bees. Was thinking a plastic plate with a sharpened bamboo stake/thick, bent wire through it as a rain shield...eg
