I think this is usually some kind of "wet weather" shock. If you overwater but then dont get any sun the next day, or something like that. Probably a genetic component to it, some lineages do it more than others.

The GPC did an article about this a couple years ago, I have had some start out like that but then change once the plant got going.

This plant grew out of the yellow leaf stage in June. I think it is weather related and I only have seen it in the early season in my patch.
