I support your use of C02, but a word of caution to perky pumpkin plebs, currently Travis (outdoors) is kicking Debacco's (with controlled C02) rear end, so dont latch onto the idea that C02 is everything. The pumpkin community has other outdoor growers like Stelts & Sperry who are bringing more lbs to the scale than the indoor guys. Correct me if I am wrong!

The way I see it, a grower seeking the WR should understand growing pumpkins both indoors and outdoors, and then seek to get the best of both worlds.

Ps, Not sure this is true for baseball and I still cant believe Lance Armstrong cheated... I genuinely liked him.

If you are an outdoor grower & you start your season in an enclosure/hot house/little greenhouse then you have the opportunity to use CO2 during that time. I’m pretty sure this has been done by at least one of the best growers in the world who is an “outside” grower.

Here are some analogies........CO2 is just a single "ingredient" in an extensive recipe. Many people cook up good pumpkins with out it, many cook up good pumpkins with it.
Matt only takes one big time swing at the plate each season and he swings for the fences.(he only grows one or two plants that he pushes to the extreme) He doesn't want just an ordinary home-run he wants to hit it out of the ballpark! I believe that if he keeps swinging sooner or later..... It will happen. There are many other growers out there that I feel the same way about. It is just a matter of time and having all the dots connected.

Good point bigmoon about the "when you swing harder, you miss the ball more". Last year by September I was just bunting it. Travis just makes it look easy like he isnt swinging that hard but he did lose his bigger one... He and Matt both know how to swing the bat... and maybe the right pitch will come!!!

Russ, thanks for the education. Are you running C02 day and night or during the day only or keeping elevated numbers 24/7?

I’m going to run it in the mornings until it is too hot to keep my greenhouse closed up.

Wow you really learned a lot of science this winter! Great narrative ! If you're going for the grand slam, the CO2 expert who gave a talk at Kasterlee, said you can even gain more if you apply CO2 when things cool down around dinner time. Close everything up and start the generator.
