All females on my field pumpkin plants are turning yellow then rotting . What is going on ?

there aborting before they bloom-means plants are stressed. Prob. too hot

too hot, usually when they're still in (or just out of) the tip. happened to me last year - hot spell wiped out all females about this time of year. I had a couple earlier pollinations, but a bunch had to wait until early August.
