What are your experiences with this? Can pruning down a big plant make it more probable to get megas. I have a plant I let run a bit wild this year to see what happens. Now I'm thinking of trimming it back and am looking for others experiences with this.

I think you already know my answer but pruning off all the growing tips that aren't showing megas will help. All the mature leaves, and well positioned medium-developed leaves (not directly overshadowing the rest of the plant) can remain. Some leaf overlap is ok but by the time the canopy is 3-4 leaves thick, the plant isnt gaining energy from those lowest/ most crowded leaves anymore.

Then just watch for suckers. If they dont have a mega then there's no need to let them grow because there's already plenty of plant. But the one or two or three that have megas... just create some space for them so that they can become healthy legit branches.

Hopefully others will share their thoughts. I don't want to use all the oxygen here.
