On a cliff in the desert

When I watched the tomato segment of the virtual conference, I heard that some people pollinate mega blooms by blowing at them. Would a hairdryer blowing cold air accomplish the same thing or is it too powerful even if the hairdryer is turned on the lowest blowing setting?

I heard that as well. It sounds like it should work. I don't own one though ,I don't have any hair these days. I can't wait to see a diary shot of Porkchop out puffing on a Megabloom in his patch. Priceless.

I am going to stick with the mimic-a-bumblebee-method.

Why not give the plant a little tap or shake when you walk by it ? If you are growing outdoors is the wind not shaking it?

If the humidity is right, sure anything that provides a bit of movement would do the job. For growing eating tomatoes, supported on strings to cables running the length of a polytunnel, I would take a cane and walk the length of the polytunnel rapping the cable every few days. Worked a treat!
