I am curious who else is going to try growing in fabric pots? What sizes? Salad Doug changed my perception of fabric pots.

I certainly think the root pruning is an interesting idea. Fabric or Airpots both do so. For the pot challenge last year i went fabric as they can in US sizes (gallons) - AirPots here (plastic, spikey things) do the same but are sold here in the UK in metric sizes which put me either over or a way under the 5 gallon limit (18.9 litres)

Given the chance I'm guessing a pot between 50 and 100 litres - too big, and I'm guessing you won't see the benefit of air pruning and the additional root branching until much later in the season or growth cycle.

I have a nylon mesh type shopping bag... probably holds 5-6 gallons. I may give it a try. I might try a cabbage rather than a tomato which is probably stupid but thats I'm thinking.

I've been using 10 and 20 gallon fabric grow bags as I'm very limited on soil space. My last two PB's (4.61 & 4.71)were grown in a 10 gallon bags. Not sure why but haven't had any luck in the 20 gallon bag.
