Looking at the tomato weight board it looks like Big Zac has fallen out of the running. Is this because the seed does not have the potential of Domingo or because growers are now focused in on Domingo? Will Big Zac make a return to the leaders board or is it done? Why aren't any of the crosses doing better? Because they are not being grown??

You are correct on all accounts Marv. Some of the crosses need to keep going and stabilize. I do think Domingo has a better chance to produce consistently heavier ones than the BZ but has BER issues. It really depends on the weather and growing conditions. Jack grew under cover and grew both Domingo and BZ to a monster size. Sutherland grew under cover. I’m thinking that has something to do with it especially here out west.

Yes, not totally exposed to the environment. Some control over cold and heat.

Idk, I just know that I haven't seen as many seeds saying they are Big Zac, as Domingos.

Is it that big zacs can’t compete or that there are fewer on the board because less are being planted? Domingo’s are the hot variety right now. What happens when a Bigmarwixbrudel tosses a 11 pounder? Everyone will grow it.
