Okay. The world record may or may not have been broken. Let's assume it was.The tomato was quite misshapen and was either a fused tomato or possibly several tomatoes that grew tightly together. No autopsy was performed to make certain and until more information is available I remain not totally convinced. But lets assume it is a new world record and over 10 pounds. The question now is, "Will the grower share any seeds with the rest of us?" I have sent messages to Dan but have gotten no reply. When the 9.44 tomato was grown by Dan, at the time a new world record, he neither shared seeds or information on his techniques. He told me he was perfecting his seeds and so would not send any out to other growers. How will he treat the rest of us this time around. We all want some seeds. He received his original seeds thorough the generosity of growers here who happily share their seeds. And who want to also grow a big tomato? Will he be forthcoming or not? Will he be sending out any seeds? Stay tuned but don't hold your breath.

Marv- it’s a new world record. Just because dan is a fuddy duddy doesn’t mean you have to be. And nevermind this “perfecting my seed” nonsense. Domingo line is very strong. Even the ones that were shared so kindly with dan. I’m excited to see if he has bigger but more importantly for the growers in the northeast —— Were just getting started. It is ON like DoNkEY KONG!!! Good luck YALL!!!!

I’m not too concerned about seeds as I am his growing techniques. You can acquire the top of the line golf clubs, but if don’t even know how to swing a club they won’t do you any good.

Porkchop, you are my (present) idol. You shared seed. You even made a "here's how" video. If I lived next door to you I think you would help me dig up my garden. If age makes a person a fuddy duddy, I am one. A year ago Dan was very helpful to me. I appreciated and do appreciate that. I am not however a fan of not sharing techniques or seeds with other growers. We all want to do better. I am a believer in doing so by helping one another. Dan leads the world now in growing big tomatoes. My hope is that he will give the rest of us a helping hand. You did. I would. Maybe I did if you count my book on giants. Also I believe Dan to be very religious and that he was offended by some of the posts here on Big Pumpkins. If you think back several good growers left when they "couldn't take a joke." I wish they would come back. I miss people like White up in Alaska. At one point I was aggravated enough that I considered leaving though I probably would not be missed that much.

Marv, I'm new here but not new to tomatoes, and don't think you will be forgotten...I remember when I first started looking this stuff up, you and Carolyn's acct was nonstop on the boards, a few others along the way, including Porkchops Giants and Jokes, Pa J, g kins, garden rebel, bnots experiments..., And bubba, if it wasn't for people sharing information, I would never Thought "oh this is something I could try"...5his is my first year actually fixing my soil and trying some techniques but I'll be around for awhile thanks to you guys. Keep the Challenge going!
