I'm not saying that I have two monsters growing on one plant...or three monsters growing on one plant :>) But a friend asked me how long do the successful growers leave more than one tomato grow on a plant before culling down to one or do they sometimes allow more than one to mature. I told my friend that I would ask.

On my short firsf truss plants i top those plants before the second set of buds can flower.but on the plants that i miss the first truss i will watch to see the next best flower and that may be a 2nd or 3rd truss a 4th flower truss is getting to big for my space. If i have 2 on one plant i will cull one before its gulf ball size. I make my choice early and go with it.

I’ll leave up to a few on if the opportunity presents itself. Especially early BER. If one gets it I have a backup. After about 10 days I’ll know and cut it down to one.

I many times have difficulties deciding which fruit to go with and dilly dally too long which hurts the ultimate size of my fruit.
I will compare blossom sizes, count sepals & compare fruit size at the same age but sometimes there is no clear winner.
Now if I have a ribbon blossom fruit it’s a no-Brainer but that doesn’t come along that often in my garden.

I am leaving three singles on to see how big they get and so I have a few to eat. I will know I made a big mistake when she weighs in a hair light... 9.99 lbs...
