I have been in contact with Weird Wint, Austin....He has agreed to take the lead in watching the winter grow competition this year. This will free my time up for other things. Wait for his announcement sometime in October.

When can you start your plants to qualify for the winter grow?

Austin has not posted anything yet..I will email him tonight to see if he is still on board. In the previous years we have been lenient on start date. If you have a cold basement..you need to start much earlier than if you have a warm environment. For the winter challenge..it must be indoors. I would say if you are in low sixties environment thru the winter you need to start soon. Last winter, with my 80+ day temps and 70's at night..I could start January 1st and have a ripe tomato by the first day of spring. I am getting anxious to get my first round going...I will probably start a couple of hydro plants this weekend.
