I see that you are using some pretty small pots to do the fabulous crosses you do.
what would you say is the smallest pot you could successfully use for a crossing project? and what size are you currently using?
Thanks for your help!

They are in one gallon pots right now and i will put them in 3 gallon pots. Thats all i have ever done because i only have one lamp to grow under and i have alot of house plants that share that lamp in the winter. My tomatoes will only be about 9 oz. To 1 lb. The size doesn't matter just a good clean cross matters. Obviously im growing for seed genetics not size !

Wonder if your crossing the megazac into anything that actually produces mega blossoms?...

Im hoping that it can increase the megabloom size on the domingo. I think the domingo is a strong late season tomato and my megazacs can get alot of ribbon vine in the late season ! I i grew 3 plants of 6.23 megazac and 3 plants of the 5.95 Domingo. I like to get reverse crosses to see if they can pick up different characteristics from each.

Thanks wint for bringing it to my attention. I need to take these plants to my garden were they can get far more sunlight. I should try to get them as bin and strong as i can before i pollinate them and maybe get larger and more seeds per tomato before i have to bring them in. Im use to growing my tomato plants in a cold frame on my deck when their are no leaves on the trees and lots of sun. Right now im only getting 4 hours of sun at my house.

Any tips on how to ensure a flower doesn’t self pollinate?

Before the tips of the male part, anther cones, start to open, get tweezers and carefully pull them off. Usually for the next several days the female is receptive to pollen. I will have a good source of anther cones from the pollinating source and pollinate the female stamen for several days in a row.

Do you pollinate at the first truss ? Multiple blossoms? What kind of light ?
