Congrats BobC...i am sure you have much bigger coming. Each PB feels good. I am really glad it was from a seed I sent you. Remember to save the seed of your best this year. Those are the seeds you can reach new highs with.

Thanks everyone. I know 2.81 pounds is small to most of you, but I'm still puffing my chest out. This is my first year growing giant tomatoes. So yes, I hope bigger things to come. Thanks again Bnot to all your support and guidance.

I see competition forming ... Esheel and BobC now tied at PB of 2.81. I really think both of you are going way bigger soon. You guys are reading and learning .. big advantage over the growers that don’t have your interest. Keep them getting bigger...I want to be asking you questions n another year.

It is larger then anything I have growing. I can't get anything larger then a two lober. You might need to carry the team.

I wouldn’t call it competition bnot. More like encouragement. I remember my first giant. Feels good to puff your chest out !

I think frostbite is sandbagging for Gale Woods. Esheel, When I say competition i mean it in a friendly way. With all the contact I have had with both of you, I know you would help each other out. I just thought it was interesting..both relatively new growers and at the same exact weight. You are even in the same part of the country. Friendly competition can be fun..my best plant is from the 7.07 Qtip seed. It has 4 lobes set and waiting for the bottom part of the flower to set. If that sets and it is all fused..watch out could have 7-8 fused heading to Gale Woods to go against my most challenging friendly competitor whose gave the seed that formed this supermega. Maybe he will bring in a monster 5.24. Remember we are friends on this board.

Absolutely bnot. I would be glad to help anyone out. I hope I didn’t offend, because that was not my intent. I do agree about friendly competition. It would be awesome if you kicked qtips ass with his own seed !

I was afraid that Iwas offending you with competition comment. I am sure many people think that the word competitor is synonymous with enemy. I think of it as a friend. Awhile back there was a discusion about the word team. A grower for Germany, posted his thoughts and I thought they were very quality. What he posted was basically..even though we compete against each other we are still a team. Sharing what works and what doesnt work makes the whole team grow bigger. Growing giants is one of the strangest hobbies. Help your fellow grower(competitor) so they can help you next year. 10 pounds is going to happen.. it will probably a result of input from 100 growers.

You are correct bnot. Competition does make us all better. I have learned a lot from a lot of you guys and gals. It’s nice when folks help one another. Maybe if everyone in the world could just grow giant vegetables.....
World peas.
And I’m callling seconds on the the 10 lb seeds.... Lol.
