I think I spelled it right. Was there anything big grown on the ZacZilla that Marv was sending out a few years back.

Ned, the biggest I could find was 4.85 and 3.80. There may have been others that I'm unaware of. I grew them, but did not get very many megablooms off them, but the plants looked great. I had 1 remaining seed that I was able to germinate this year. The plant looks spectacular right now and I have high hopes for this year. At least 5.43 pounds... I'm coming for you Materdoc!

Although ZacZilla had great promise, it grew nothing exceptional. Only Minnie Zaccaria had any luck with it. She thought it would do well in producing big tomatoes but so far nothing great. I still have some seeds left but it is probably too late to start this year. Marv

I got a couple to germinate and will get them in the ground. They are quite small at this point.

Marv, it is not too late yet. Last year I reached the 5's with a mid June start. I might be too late for nipple high but still plenty of time for the MacCoy method. Growers don't be afraid to start new plants now...you still have time to reach a new pb.

I was wondering if the southern growers could start later. Mid september into October is tough growing in Minnesota. Temps are dropping and blight is hitting hard. Southern growers would have a later temp drop. Unfortunately, gpc entry for early tomatoes ends before fall weighoffs. They need to extend it to year round. There is a chance some year in the future of the world record being grown indoors during the winter. I am not experienced with the obstacles the southern growers have to evercome, but I still think that tomatoes are not as narrow if a season as some people think.

I grew the 4.85 fulk a couple years ago - beautiful plants but never got any nice blossoms. I didn't have a large sample size of plants but doubtful I will plant them again in my garden.

I have 2 Zaczilla plants growing. I have not gotten a very large fruit from this variety. Why am I growing them? Because last year one of my Zaczilla plants had an awesome approximately 12X bloom. I’m not completely sure but I believe it was on the first blossom truss. Unfortunately I was not able to get it pollinated. I would like another try at it!

It will be fun to watch... I have a couple and Dyberry may have one too... It may be enough to put Team 24 over the top!
