How is everyone doing?....other than bob of course ...anyone got one set? Post some pictures....winter is long for all of us... I have one plant going with a mega bloom just starting to form - fingers crossed! Also, is Porkchop still alive out there? Also also, any bets on whether biscuit is going to pop up out of no where with another world record, this time grown indoors?? :) ....and Bob, I was just kidding, i do want to know how you're doing :)

The winter growing challenge is pretty much a challenge with myself. Trying to get a flower to just open, pollinate and grow is the biggest challenge. I cranked the air temp up into the 90's to try to stimulate something. Otherwise I have a mangle of 4 plants with the only one showing any sign of flowers being the Russian Oxheart closest to the lights. The flowers prior didn't really open and just fell off. Being in just a well pump house outside, the soil temp has been cold in the 60's and hard to heat up. Thought it would be easier. Can't wait until the Summer season.

i have already posted my results of first round of germination..not great. Second round of germination- I have 7 tomatoes set and growing but BER is starting to show up again. 3 round of germination- first of the hydro tomato blossoms is going to open in about a day. I am just hoping to break my indoor personal best number this winter. Maybe by next winter can solve the indoor issues and grow full size.

porkchop..i have been trying to figure out what issue is causing the BER. It has appeared with many different varieties. I have tried multiple watering strategies without solving the problem. My best guess now is the soil I have been using tests high in NH4. I think that I probably should be flushing the soil on a regular basis, but with the 40 gallon pots i cant do it without flooding my grow room. After this grow..all the big pots are going outside for summer tomato growing. Soon my indoor grow is going to be all hydro.

i have it somewhat under control...at first sign i have given it a slight spray of calcium chloride..it seems to dry it up quickly. Right now i am watering using 3 ml of cal-mg per gallon of water which is higher than the heavy application that the bottle lists. For the past 4 days..no new signs of it. I really wish I could give the pots a good flush. Guess I wasn't thinking far enough in advance.

I like the addition of the magnifying glass to the picture. I think we can round it up...since the scale said .0017 oz. Do you think we should enlarge the picture to verify that the caliper is not touching. You gave it a good effort Rick. I am trying to figure out your difficulty with getting sets. I am thinking it might be your light intensity...maybe a bit stronger light with more red spectrum would help. Ok..so we have in 1st place 1.98 pounds, in 2nd place .02 oz, lastest info i have is wixom-grower(chris) still has one growing, and qtip might have one going. Anyone else still in it?

After spending a lot of time with getting soil, germination, lights set up, daily checkups, watering, fertilizing, I had to make something of it, even as a joke. Yes, bnot I think you are right with the lighting. The only plant to produce flowers is closest to the four lights. Sorry, I don't think I will be able to get a seed from it.

It's too late Chris, it soon developed a rotten spot. That's what the magnifying glass was for ):
