I've been growing giant pumpkins for the past few years, but this is the first time with watermelons. Do I let the tertiary vines grow and never trim any of my vines - just let them turn around and fill the spaces? Thanks

Some do some don't. Some grow smaller plants (under 200 sq ft), some grow larger plants (over 300 sq ft)

Thanks - I heard something about not pruning them, but just wanted to hear what others did

A good pruning of a large healthy vine at the right time may give it's melon accelerated growth for a time. Anecdotal I know, but I have seen it myself.
