20 gals is a lot of water per day... I'm guessing being in New jersey your temps aren't running hot enough to need that much water... I would definitely back off on the water...

If you have good weather you should be getting 4 pounds or better per day. It is hard to get a plant to pick up speed in mid season. What and how much fertilizer did you put out on 200 sq ft before planting? what and how much ferts do you use in season? what is your ph? what is your weather like?

I've given mine about 20 gallons this year..might wanna hold back A bit..I was told to grow them like tomatoes which I like to let dry out between waterings...wet year here but had them covered til mid July

to get to 210 I think you will need to up your ferts from beginning to end. before planting and during season. more often than every 10 days.

When it's 95 here I give my melon plants about 10 gal of water a day... I foliar feed everyday... and drench every 5th day if possible... melons won't surge and pop like kins will if they get dry and then rain...
