Chris Kent weighed a 205 lb Jumbo Black Diamond at Kentucky today! The largest dark rind melon ever grown! Chris is also the winner of the Jumbo Black Diamond contest for 2016! Awesome job Chris!

The JBD already has some 178 Bright in it if I remember right. Llyod did a good job developing these things. It is alot of work to developed a new melon with the desired traits. I guess Lloyd has developed both varieties capable of weighing 200 pounds. With Lloyds breeding skills and Chris' growing skills they produced a monster.

Chris is one of the most versatile giant vegetable growers out there. If he puts his mind to growing it. It will be big! Congratulations Chris, I am thrilled to see a Black Diamond grow to over 200 pounds.
