I did not read in the posts about how we are handling the weighing of these to satisfy "Our Contest" winner.Are or will they need to be Gpc site weighed or will alternate sites suffice?I am lucky enough to have a decent one going and may get another week of growth.Just trying to plan ahead a little.Input would be appreciated ! Hope everyone entered did ok that entered and likewise hope to see some big CC,s as well.

The plant emerged on 4/25.Dap was 7/10. Due to late outdoor set due to temps had to go with a set on the tenth and plant did not have time to get as big as I would have liked.It was the only survivor from the 4 that were started outside.Others died from dreaded overnight wilt disease.Will take measure outside tomorrow and post OTT.The way the cc,s look,it appears I will go to gpc site in Altoona,PA.Also will take bushel gourd if it will fit .LOL.

Any certified scale will work. I would prefer a GPC site but a certified scale will suffice. A picture on the scale of the entire scale/melon in diary or to me would be good.

Well we are still growing at DAP 65 but alot slower. They will probally be done in 80-85 day range.

If it is short and fat, I think if you get to 180 you'll be close. My Mt Hoosiers that were short were about 10% heavy the longer ones about even with the chart.

I think I'm day 75 today... its been very, very slow... Mine will be weighed this weekend, as I see it fitting to take it to Hope (Old Washington) Weigh Off... The place that put the dark melons on the map with the 195 lb world record back in the day.
