Getting these seeds off the ground is a bit of a challenge. Assuming you have a way to heat the soil or seeds to get successful germination, most any light will give them what they need at a minimum. A regular light bulb won't work but if you can get maybe a two light fluorescent fixture you will be in good shape. Ideally you should use either cool white or 'grow' bulbs. You can pick up those bulbs at the big box stores. Other growers eventually move up to more powerful lights but if you are just looking to get your plants off to a good start this spring then fluorescents will do fine.

I use a 24" set of t-5 fluorescents. Think I have about 30 bucks tied up in it.

Nice looking set up tree top. You should mist the sides and bottom of it with water to make it humid inside. Temps at 93 - 95 degrees should germinate in 2 - 3 days.

once the seeds emerge, you have to get them close to the light or they will get spindly. close as in like 2-3 inches if those are fluorescents

A grow light bulb will deliver more light in the wavelengths your young plant is able to use. Like Chris said, young melon plants need lots of light to keep from growing lanky.
