Anyone else notice when they cut the vines or picked a fruit off of a grafted plant that there was a tea colored liquid dripping out instead of clear. The plants didn't seem diseased and the melons actually grew quite large.

squash juice?? lol
I haven't, but many of many GSB plants have a amber goo that comes from the stems, vines and stumps.

I had the same colored stuff coming out of my long gourds last season. I posed the question on the LG board last year and was told that it was uncommon.

I wouldn't say that it was like a goo, but more like a tea colored water. I saw it on plants with the shintosa camelforce and the bushel gourd rootstocks. I didn't see it on any of the traditional plants. It didn't seem to hurt anything.

I have a plant that is leaking at the stem, same color a dark tea, had it before, no worry for me.

Tall corn is the plant that is leaking a grafted one?

I am sorry, no it is not
I just make up a paste of seven, apply around where it is leaking.
It has stopped now, The plant just pushes to much, there for it has to go some where as the melon just can't take it all. (this is only my idea)

I will check on my GSB control plants when I get back in town. I will let you know what I see.

When people see the ooze they think GSB, but that is not always the case. Sometimes they just leak. Sulfer works well to stop it. There are some others who have actually tested plants that could tell you more, but GSB it being used to diagnose problems to often.
