For the 2013 growing year the top 20 pay out for the traditional category will be $4675

As of now the grafted category is $725 and that may go up some by June 1st. Paying 5 places with 12 members in that category as of this date.

I think some are waiting to see how others do with grafting before they give a try. It is new to a lot of growers so it may take some time. But we do have some very good growers trying it this year

We had 3 melons last year over 270 lbs. with traditional plants, that's hard to beat.

I think there are many more growing grafted plants that haven't signed up. I believe they are growing them just to see how they will go. Seems to me, paying 5 spots, and only 12 people, odds are pretty good, so maybe a few more will reconsider and sign up.
