Well I guess I will grow the club I started out to do 2 years ago.This will take a few weeks to put together.There will be no more personal attacks on anyone.That is done.If you had walked in my shoes the past year you might understand.If your truly interested in growing giant melons & a 2nd club give me an E-mail mark.clementz@yahoo.com.I will keep your name private if you like.I will share everything I learned this year growing Jackson Reed & the 221.5.I learned a lot this season.The 221.5 received little care and was buried in weeds by labor day.Which in turn taught me something big.It's funny how hind sight is 20/20.I keep no secrets.If you want to be in the top 10 next year I can help you do it.My idea was to keep club growing with plans of 5,000$ first prize & paying 20 places.I was stopped after 3 sponsors,this wont happen this time as I will make sure my committee is on the same page before I start.I have sponsors in mind & ready to go.This club will be more new school with grafting greatly encouraged & endorsed.So please give a e-mail if interested.There will be no mud slinging.I think there is plenty of room for 2 clubs.This will not hurt the GWG has no intent of doing that.although it grow much larger in time as I will work diligently to make this happen.I love think outside of the box.So please join me!

Count me in too please. Mark, are you thinking about 2014 or do you hope to be up and running in 2013 ? Is it possible to be member of the GWG and your new club also ? Let me know when you are ready for a seed donation. It is going to be a lot of fun watching this new club grow. I hope we can make it a truly international effort. I suggest Gabriele Bartoli be given a free membership for his first year once you have the club up and running. I think that will help get other Italian growers to join. :o)

Yes I just spoke with a nice guy who sent me a bubble for some seeds.He very interested in growing melons & being part of a new International Club with grafting involved.Was thinking grafting was a great way to go.Anyone interested in a modern club like this feel free to call me anytime 248-818-0104.I think it would be best to talk details off the board,as we have seen the bad direction this has taken in the past.You can belong to both clubs.Lines are open operators are standing by.lol

Mark, I agree grafted plants should be encouraged. But not all growers will be into grafted plants and some may not have the ability to produce them. So I think it should be clear to club members that they will certainly be free to grow non grafted plants or any kind of plant they want for that matter. In other words, no one should get the impression there is a grafting requirement.
